Mosaïques des Balkans

The Mosaïques des Balkans (“Balkan Mosaics”) collection was created in 2018 as part of an inventory of Albanian mosaics. In addition to this corpus, comprising six to eight separate volumes, it is planned to expand the series to cover other Balkan countries. In addition to a detailed presentation of the mosaics, illustrated with plans and photographs, the books feature contributions from specialists in archaeometry, iconography and workshop studies. The aim is to provide as comprehensive documentation as possible, intended for researchers working on the pivotal region between Rome and Constantinople, from the Hellenistic period to the Middle Ages. The series also aims to introduce the most beautiful pavements to investors wishing to make it possible to present to the public currently inaccessible heritage material and to provide visitors with appropriate documentation
