With this third book, we continue our program to publish the corpora of “Greek imperial” coins in cities of Pontus, which started when one of us (B. R.) was Antiquity’s director of studies for the Institut Français d’Études Anatoliennes d’Istanbul (1987-1989). After Zenep Çizmeli, who defended his PhD thesis on Neoceasarea’s mint and published it in Milan in 2006, and Frank Wojan, who recently published Kerazonte’s and Trebizond’s mint, another young and talented numismatist joined our team. Julie Dalaison dedicated her PhD thesis to the study of Amaseia’s mint. Associate Professor at University, formerly on a scholarship from the Institut Français d’Études Anatoliennes d’Istanbul (2000-2003), she is now lecturer in Roman history at University Lumière Lyon II. She just published her thesis with Éditions Ausonius. In the next few years, she will keep broadening the corpus of poetic cities’ mints during the Roman period and will prepare a synthesis of the region’s coinage.
