This conference on « château et stratégies familiales » was fascinating from start to finish, from the problems’ outline to the case studies. Every communication showed that “castles feed and nurture a logic of passion”. The latter prompts to ensure the continuity of a lineage on a sometimes really long-term, and it is generally to realise the reproduction or the ascending of the lineage that strategies were presented. On the whole, on a difficult topic, the richness and variety of information discussed during this conference allowed us to compare, confirm and detail different types of familial strategies, and to truly develop the integration analysis, within these strategies of the castle itself, especially as a landscape element. We thus return from these beautiful days in Périgord with a rich scientific harvest.
