In a ten-year's time, Labitolosa has come out from the darkness, into the light. From the darkness in which it was left because of the total lack of ancient textual references, it was brought to light by the excavations on the settlement of the Cerro del Calavario (La Puebla de Castro, Huesca province, Spain). The exceptional epigraphic discoveries made during the 1994 campaign, the exploration of various public buildings and of one domus, and the localization of a number of the surroundings rural settlements, by land and aerial surveys, make of this settlement the best example of a little Roman civitas known nowadays in the Pyrenees and their piedmont.
