Mémoires 36
Transalpinare. Mélanges offerts à Anne-Marie Adam
This book contains 30 papers on various aspects of northern alpine protohistorical civilizations and ancient Mediterranean cultures, including on the relationships both have maintained over the last millennium BC. The 43 authors of these contributions, “protohistorians” or “classical scholars”, propose their original view and the results of their recent research on these problematics. Historiography, material culture, places of burial or worship, settlements (often fortified), as well as issues relating to the elite and the aristocracy of these societies are discussed, throughout thematic synthesis articles or monographs. The geographical scope covers a major part of Europe, from Spain to Greece and from Italy to Poland. All contributions are dedicated, to a greater or lesser extent, to the themes developped by Anne¬Marie Adam in her archaeological research, both south and north of the Alps.
