D'Homère à Plutarque : itinéraires historiques
The academic fields of Greek History analysed by Claude Mossé are various. This book attempts to give an account of them by republishing a set of articles, often issued from international conferences published outside France. From the five themes concerned (Economies and Societies, Women and Family, Law and Politics, War, Historiography) emerge the eclecticism and originality of a thought constantly questioned. These studies together give the Greek cities of archaic and classical period the image of a civilisation in which action and thought were closely related, but also an image distant from all hagiography of any « Eternal Greece ».
