Dominique Henry-Gambier conducted her research on Late Palaeolithic populations from a dual biological and cultural perspective. Her approach led her to explore the identity of the human groups represented, and to address their cultural and social contexts through archaeological evidence, whether lithic, bone material or indicative of mortuary practices. Throughout her career, she has fostered interdisciplinary collaborations with many colleagues in the scientific community.
This book, through contributions from prehistorians, anthropologists, archaeozoologists and sociologists, aims to illustrate the diversity of her research interests in bioarchaeology, from methodological aspects to inferences drawn from the analysis of archaeological sites, some of which benefited directly from her involvement in the field.
