Inscriptions latines d'Aquitaine (ILA). Gabales
The book gathers all the ancient Latin inscriptions known in the territory of the small civitas of Gabali, the present department of Lozère. This is a modest corpus from the number of them - 27 inscriptions on stone and three milestones - but original from many points, funerary and religious. Are added a study of the instrumentum inscriptum on various media (rings, tool, tegulae...), graffiti on pottery, which are very numerous at Javols, the civitas capital, and a series of rock inscriptions along an ancient road. This set of written documents allows us to gain more insight from the anthroponymic data as from the practice of writing, into the degreee of acculturation of the inhabitants of this montainous territory in the south of the Massif Central
