De Rome à Lugdunum des Convènes. Itinéraire d’un Pyrénéen par monts et par vaux. Hommages offerts à Robert Sablayrolles
From classics to archaeology, from Rome to the Pyrenees, Robert Sablayrolles has surveyed the roads that lead to knowledge of the Roman empire. Archaeologist and epigrapher, enquiring mind and outstanding teacher, he has trained generations of researchers and instilled in them his passion and his rigour. Towns large and small, terrain and territory are his major areas of interest; dominant among them Rome and Lugdunum of the Convenae, Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, to both of which he has devoted a significant part of his career.
Forty-seven of his colleagues and friends here pay homage to this indefatigable man of the intellect through themes dear to him.
