Francis Tassaux was a professor of Roman archaeology at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, attached to the Ausonius laboratory. Expert of the Roman world, a fine connoisseur of Gaul as of the Adriatic, he is at the origin of a bibliography on ancient architecture, trade and land use. His work has left his mark on the European scientific landscape. Endowed with remarkable human qualities, he has been able to combine numerous collaborations and create a genuine scientific network. This collection is the occasion for some of his many colleagues and friends to pay tribute to him. The diversity of addressed themes reflects the multitude of his interests.
