Alain Bouet is a professor of Roman history and archaeology at the Bordeaux Montaigne University. Specialist in architecture, he works on the organization of cities, on the public monuments and particularly those relating to hygiene, to which he devoted several works. He has led a number of excavations in France and abroad including 12 years at Barzan. This book is the third he publishes on the remarkable site of Charente-Maritime.
