Mobilités grecques. Mouvements, réseaux, contacts en Méditerranée de l'époque archaïque à l'époque hellénistique
The essays collected in this volume focus on the question of Greek mobility in the Mediterranean, from Archaic times down to the beginning of the Hellenistic period. This field of study has seen important theoretical progress in the last twenty years, most notably through the application of notions centred on the concept of ethnicity and on the role played by networks. This book sets out to assess these trends, from both historiographic and epistemological viewpoints, and to evaluate the scientific value of these approaches.
The overview and assessment offered here fill a recognised gap in our knowledge and are particularly timely, since the subject of mobility and of Greek diasporas is currently part of the curriculum studied by French students seeking qualification as professors of history and geography.
