Birth means apparition, initial construction, which implies the existence of a site, its description, the settling of a list of its layout, changes, etc. (…) Transformation ignores chronological constraints. It is not instantaneous but slow and it ignores spatial scales as well – by which I mean that transformation can affect every step of the site development, but to different levels. First and quite logically – quite simply too – transformation applies to the steps of the spatial organisation of elements that constitutes the site: dungeon, residential buildings, perimeter defences, outer yard. Then, to a larger scale – meaning going more in detail – it takes part in the steps of room distribution and circulation… (A. Bazzana)
